Web Designer
Responsibilities:
Deliver tasks under the supervision of an editorial team, in collaboration with the legal writers
Partner with the Web Developer for back-end support/ functionality
Conceptualize, design, and develop original web portals and blogs
Create and visually execute websites and blogs as directed by the lead editor/project leader following strict specifications in terms of design and technology
Process photos so they will meet international publishing standards
Maintain expertise on search engine news and trends.
Execution on-page SEO tactics and strategy.
Perform data reporting analyze traffic and/ or ranking reports.
Analyze traffic and lead flow for web sites and make adjustments as needed.
Make use of marketing mind and a user centric approach to improving search engine performance
Requirements:
Candidate must be a Bachelor's Degree holder in Art/Design/Creative Multimedia, Advertising or equivalent
Must have a minimum of 1 year of web design experience with expertise in creating media and content driven websites such as professional blogs and portals.
Must possess a strong sense of visual design, graphical/illustration skills, and an eye for detail.
Must have knowledge on grid lay-outing, contemporary online design principles, good typography and spacing, web usability, and multi-platform optimization.
Proficient in designing original templates that will work with Wordpress.
Thorough understanding of web 2.0 technology as well as current trends.
Required: HTML, CSS
Preferred: Photoshop, Flash, XML, PHP, JavaScript
Must be able to provide a current online portfolio that is visually impressive and comparable to international sites (Applicants without an online portfolio need not apply)
